The Diablo Wind Symphony will present its third concert this season on Monday, March 10th, 8 pm, at the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek. The 45-member honor group will feature trumpeter David Burkhart, professor of trumpet at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
Professor Burkhart will perform Tartini’s Concerto for Trumpet in D and will also join the DWS trumpet section for Frank Cofield’s Trumpet, Ole!
Additional concert literature includes Armenian Folk Song and Dance (Khachaturian), Sea Songs (Vaughan Williams), Prelude and Fugue in G minor (Bach), Chester (Schuman), Second Suite in F (Holst), and selections from Man of La Mancha.
